Rachelle is an artist and nonprofit administrator based in Nevada.
ABOUT ME
Rachelle was born and raised in Southeast Alaska, where she spent most of her life outside of attending college in Maine, New Mexico, and Utah. Her educational background combines art with administration, informing both her studio practice and her work in the arts and nonprofit sector. After graduating, she returned home and spent nearly a decade working for community-focused organizations before recently moving back to the Southwest.
Growing up in Southeast Alaska fostered a deep connection to the forests, mountains, and coastlines of the region; landscapes that continue to inspire her work today. Block printing is her primary medium, though she also works with watercolor, field sketching, mapmaking, and other media as well. Her work captures the beauty and diversity of the environment by combining layers of color and texture to create stylized landscapes, animals, and plants.
She has spent years working as an arts and nonprofit administrator, coordinating exhibit spaces, producing large-scale events, managing community-based programs, and supporting marketing and fundraising efforts. She holds an MFA in Arts Administration from Southern Utah University and a BFA in Fine Art from New Mexico Highlands University.
Outside of the studio, Rachelle enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, exploring new places, playing softball, and planning her next adventure with her partner and their dogs.
