ABOUT ME

Rachelle was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Outside of attending college in Maine, New Mexico, and Utah, she has spent most of her life in Southeast Alaska. After completing her undergraduate and graduate studies, she returned to Juneau and spent nearly a decade working with community-focused organizations before recently making her way back to the Southwest.

Growing up in the rainforest of Southeast Alaska fostered a lasting connection to the outdoors that continues to inspire her work. Block printing is her primary medium, though she also works in watercolor, field sketching, mapmaking, and other media. Through layered color, texture, and stylized interpretations of landscapes, plants, and animals, her work reflects a desire to capture a sense of place.

Alongside her studio practice, Rachelle has extensive experience in exhibit and gallery management, event production, community programming, marketing, communications, and fundraising. She holds an MFA in Arts Administration from Southern Utah University and a BFA in Fine Art from New Mexico Highlands University.

Outside of her creative and professional work, Rachelle enjoys camping, hiking, exploring new places, playing softball, and planning her next adventure with her partner and their dogs.
